Picture
Name: Butternut
Breed: Orange Tabby
Age: 10
Sex: Male

About Me: Butternut was a stray found shivering under an abandoned trailer in January 2021. Lured inside by a bowl of tuna, he immediately impressed his hosts with his sweet nature and calm temperament. His favorite things include being brushed, belly rubs, and long naps on soft cushions.

Although Butternut seems familiar with the rules of living in a house (he uses his litter box and hasn’t shown his claws once except when happily kneading), he must have had a rough life outside since then. His teeth are mostly broken so he requires wet food; we are consulting with veterinarians on whether to get them removed to spare him pain and infection. He is positive for FIV, which means he would be best off as the only cat in a household. His glorious tomcat-cheeks are partly the result of scar tissue from defending himself.

Butternut is a loving, unflappable boy who promises a warm snuggle and a rolling purr of appreciation to any household willing to give him a chance.

Keep checking back for information on when I'll be adoptable!
